Enterprise Software

Openwave Corporation, the leading provider of software products and services for the mobile communications industry, had not achieved the full potential of software test automation and offshore test outsourcing for their messaging product platform. LogiGear utilized its trademark TestArchitect toolset to integrate test design, automation and management. In using TestArchitect, LogiGear doubled OpenWave’s testing coverage, ran test suites 500% faster, and reduced overall testing and test automation costs by 31%.

Centrify Corporation, a provider of Active Directory-based identity, access and policy management solutions for Windows, Unix/Linux systems, and for Java- and web-based applications, needed to reduce the cost and time of software testing with a test automation solution optimized for a global team in four locations in the US and Asia. LogiGear achieved Centrify’s automated vision with TestArchitect and Action Based Testing. In the span of one month, LogiGear delivered a global test automation platform resulting in 80% of tests automated, finding 972 bugs, 60% of which were uncovered via automation.

"I was very pleased with the level of service and commitment we received from LogiGear Corporation and can recommend them to organizations in need of software testing services. Their professional staff was extremely helpful and responsive throughout the entire project, from their initial help in defining our test program, to meeting their commitments on time. I was impressed with how well the LogiGear staff worked with both our system and our engineers. They even gave us extra service and help where we needed it."

When LeapFrog embarked upon an ambitious strategy for new market leadership in the intensely competitive children's educational electronics industry, improved operational efficiency was critical to success. LogiGear took on the challenge, utilizing its offshore center in Vietnam to implement Action Based Testing with the TestArchitect toolset. With LogiGear, LeapFrog decreased its QA staff from a range of 30-40 down to 11 full time highly skilled engineers, eliminated seasonal hiring challenges, and decreased hourly testing costs by 30% below that of its prior outsourcing effort.

CommScope, a networking company, relied on an on-shore testing partner using manual methods to test the core back-end functionality of its networking software. Because of the time-consuming nature and high cost of the manual testing service, CommScope chose to bypass testing the GUI component of its solution, having reasoned it to be "mature" and not subject to much change. CommScope's customers were learning otherwise-GUI bugs were being found in every new release. Ultimately, CommScope turned to LogiGear. Using TestArchitect, LogiGear automated over 4,000 test cases, expanded coverage from 0% to 90%, and automated GUI testing in only 20 machine hours.

"I enjoyed working with LogiGear and was struck by their patience and thoroughness in moving from the beginning to the end of our testing process. Their ability to establish relevant test cases proved to be invaluable. We received regular tallied results and summary statements. These were useful in helping us visualize the daily progress of the LogiGear team so that we knew where we were in relation to our rather tight deadline."

"We at Financial Engines have worked with LogiGear for several release cycles now, and found them to provide great flexibility and to rapidly meet our testing needs. They do a good job both executing test plans we give them and constructing their own test plans from written product specifications. They go out of their way to understand our needs and meet them effectively. The testing staff has high standards and produces well-written and useful bug reports. Working with them has also had the benefit of streamlining and optimizing our internal processes. In summary, I recommend LogiGear to any QA organization which needs the added flexibility and power of an outside testing house."
- Ken Grossenbacher, QA Manager, Financial Engines Inc.
Clients by Technology
Since 1994, LogiGear has successfully completed over 3,000 software testing projects. As technologies have evolved, so has our expertise. Here's a small example of the projects we've completed across a diverse array of technologies.
Desktop & Client/Server Software

McAfee is a leading provider of email and web managed security services running a suite of 423 software tests manually to test their security software. Manual testing was so time consuming that it took approximately 240 person-hours to run and its build acceptance testing was done on an ad-hoc, time-permitting basis. Using LogiGear’s automated software testing solution, McAfee’s automated test coverage expanded from 10% to 80% and it increased overall test coverage from 50% to 90% while simultaneously cutting testing hours from 500 manual hours to 160 machine hours.
Web, Cloud & E-Commerce

Leap Wireless, a provider of innovative mobile wireless services to traditionally underserved market segments, needed a solution to provide increased test coverage and test effectiveness for their high traffic, frequently updated customer service portal. LogiGear used TestArchitect to create a test automation framework with over 1000 test cases providing complete test coverage of their portal in less than two days, and the ability for expansion to cover future development.
