Hung Nguyen
CEO, President, and Founder
Hung Nguyen co-founded LogiGear in 1994, and is responsible
for the company's strategic direction and executive business management. He leads the company's innovative approach to
software testing, test automation, testing tool solutions and testing education
programs.
Mr. Nguyen is coauthor of the top-selling book in the software testing field,
Testing Computer Software (Wiley, 2nd ed. 2002) and other
publications including Testing Applications on the Web (Wiley, 2nd
ed. 2003). His experience over the past
two decades includes leadership roles in software development, quality, product
and business management at Spinnaker, PowerUp, Electronic Arts, Palm Computing and
other leading companies. A frequent
speaker at industry events and a contributor to many industry publications,
Nguyen also teaches software testing at LogiGear University, and at the University
of California Berkeley Extension and
Santa Cruz Extension in San Francisco
and Silicon Valley
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Quality Assurance from Cogswell Polytechnical College,
and is a graduate of a Stanford Graduate School of Business Executive
Program. An American Society for Quality
Certified Quality Engineer, he is also a member of the Advisory Council for the
UC Berkeley Extension Department of Applied Computing and Information Systems.
Hans Buwalda
Chief Technology Officer
Hans Buwalda leads LogiGear's research and development of test
automation solutions, and oversees the delivery of advanced test automation
consulting and engineering services. The
original architect of the keyword framework for software testing organizations,
he assists clients in strategic implementation of Action Based Testing
throughout their testing organizations, and he is lead developer of LogiGear's
TestArchitect, the keyword-based toolset for software test design, automation
and management.
Prior to joining LogiGear, Mr. Buwalda served as project director
at CMG (now LogicaCMG) in the Netherlands.
During his seventeen years with that firm he assisted clients in nine countries develop
and deploy software testing solutions. He
is an internationally recognized expert specializing in test automation, test
development, and testing technology management, and speaks frequently at international
conferences on concepts such as Action Based Testing, the Three Holy Grails of
Test Development, Soap Opera Testing, and Testing in the Cold.
He is coauthor of Integrated Test Design and Automation
(Addison Wesley, 2001) and holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from the
Free University, Amsterdam.
Michael Hackett
Vice President, Business Strategy and Operations
Michael Hackett co-founded LogiGear in 1994 and leads the
company's LogiGear University training operations division, setting the standard in software testing education
programs for many of the world's leading software development organizations.
Mr. Hackett is coauthor of the popular Testing
Applications on the Web (Wiley, 2nd ed. 2003), and has helped
many clients produce, test and deploy applications ranging from business
productivity to educational multimedia across multiple platforms and multiple
language editions. His clients have
included Palm Computing, Oracle, CNET, Electronics for Imaging, The Learning
Company, and PC World.
Prior to co-founding LogiGear, Mr. Hackett managed QA teams
at The Well, Adobe Systems, and PowerUp Software. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering
from Carnegie-Mellon University.
William Q. Coleman
Vice President, Business Development
William Coleman is responsible for LogiGear’s strategic partnerships and key customer relationships. Previously LogiGear's VP of engineering services, he has been with the company for over ten years.
Mr. Coleman also draws on his deep experience in software quality assurance to lead advanced test automation workshops for LogiGear University. In his career with LogiGear he has helped many well-known companies succeed in their quality assurance infrastructure and testing efforts, including firms that offer software products, consumer electronics products, professional services, Internet communications and Web-based services including portals and search engines.
Prior to joining LogiGear Corporation, he served as principal engineer at C|Net, responsible for QA engineering on the company's Web directory and portal, and at Pacific Bell he managed the digital television QA and integration team. He holds a B.S. in Mathematics from Fairfield University.
Joe Hughes
Vice President, Sales
Joe Hughes has over 25 years of executive management experience in computer software and networking, and leads LogiGear’s sales team in offering a wide range of software testing services and training, including onshore and offshore testing, advanced software test automation and test process consulting.
Previously VP of Sales at Solovatsoft, a provider of outsourced IT services with resources in Russia, he also has deep experience in Silicon Valley start-up organizations. Joe was the CEO and VP of Sales and Marketing for Mark Systems, a software firm specializing in Large Scale Data Retrieval systems and telephone-computer integration. As VP and Director of Sales and Marketing for Corvus Systems and Herculeez, he developed distribution channels including systems resellers, OEM's, large end-users and international customers.
Joe also has experience in software development management, customer service operations, and technical writing. He holds a BS in computer science and math, is a graduate of the Stanford MBA program for Senior Executives, and has completed the E-Commerce Management program at San José State University.
