Training Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a curriculum and a course?

A course is a one to three-day seminar that covers a specific topic, such as web testing or automation.

A curriculum is a series of courses as well as additional learning material that covers a body of knowledge needed for a tester to effectively fill a specialized role in the organization, such as automation engineer or test lead.

Is the program available to individuals?

Our software testing curricula are intended for testing teams and organizations who wish to create standard bodies of knowledge, terminology, processes, and techniques across their organization.

Is this a certification program?

LogiGear does not offer certifications, however our curricula cover the bulk of the the American Society for Quality (ASQ) Body of Knowledge, and therefore serve as a good preparation for becoming ASQ certified.

If your organization would like to develop an internal certification program, LogiGear can create tests that meet the specific certification goals of your organization.

Can my organization design our own curricula?

Absolutely. LogiGear will work closely with key stakeholders to design curricula that meet the unique needs of your organization. If you are uncertain of the specific testing needs, LogiGear can conduct an assessment to determine what training would have the highest impact for your organization.

Which parts of the curriculum can be customized?

LogiGear recognizes that every organization uses different processes, tools, and terminology. We've designed our curricula to contain certain "standard" customizations; we can develop new customized material if your organization needs to cover topics that are not part of our library.

Where are the classes held?

It is recommended that the classes are held on site at your office or corporate training facility, to help reduce travel costs and maximize availability.

Do students have to take all the classes at once?

No. LogiGear's software testing curricula are designed to afford flexibility around an organization's development schedule. This allows students to benefit from all the lessons available while still fulfilling their project obligations.

How many students are in each class? Is there a maximum or minimum?

LogiGear has a ten (10) student minimum enrollment and a twenty (20) maximum student enrollment per class.

Is there an exam at the end of each curriculum?

If your organization wishes to conduct an exam at the end of each curriculum, this can be done. The exam can be customized, and can be proctored by LogiGear instructors or by your internal staff.

Who are the instructors for the curricula?

LogiGear University's instructors are industry thought leaders and accomplished software testing professionals. They have years of practical experience applying the theories and techniques taught in our courses.
