The Challenges

Ascom sought to implement a testing model where its in-house team could improve the rate of automation testing. The initial target for functional and regression testing was to perform progressive tests of at least two Ascom NT product builds per week. However, it was concerned that an outsourcing company would undergo a protracted time to learn the product.

The Solutions

LogiGear assisted the client in achieving a “fully tested product” at the end of a development/release cycle, with test plans and low-cost offshore resources. The test plan included manual/ad-hoc testing, the development of new functional automated scripts, and the maintenance of existing test automation.

The Results

It required only three months to exhaustively test Ascom products by the end of the release cycle with a faster test execution schedule, compared to the former client’s test plans. In addition, the new automated scripts also reduced the costs spent on testing activities.
