Penske Logistics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Penske Truck Leasing, operates in North America, South America, Europe, and Asia. The company provides supply chain management and logistics services, including dedicated carriage, distribution center management, transportation management, lead logistics, supply chain consulting, and freight brokerage.
Penske Logistics required comprehensive functional testing across their platforms and mobile environments. They needed their systems to be real-time, secure, accurate, and efficient due to the numerous operational and financial management systems they possess.
Testing activities needed to cover financial portals, Master Schedule, MCP, CellCom, and OTM, with the number of smoke test cases varying across different industries.
There were issues that needed to be addressed to ensure that functional testing aligned with product rollout plans. Upon review, it became apparent that automation coverage was decreasing with each new build, despite increased testing resources.
They aimed for functional testing across various functions and mobile environments on their platforms.
LogiGear conducted an in-depth review of requirements and user stories through close collaboration with Penske. The team navigated several processes, refined test cases and bugs, and addressed challenges related to data.
During the engagement, LogiGear conducted manual testing across all required features on the website and mobile environment. All possible designed test cases were automated using TestArchitect™. This automation tool was selected as the best option to meet all needs.
TestArchitect™ enabled natural structuring of tests, allowing Penske to efficiently and effectively test their target applications. The keyword-driven testing methodology of TestArchitect™ facilitated rapid enterprise automation, reducing the reliance on automation programming experts. This feature made it a perfect fit for Penske’s testing needs.
The team designed and executed manual test cases across all required features on websites and mobile environments. Subsequently, all possible test cases were converted into automated scripts and executed using TestArchitect. LogiGear produced results and uncovered new considerations. The team has been commended for taking ownership and pride in our work.
TestArchitect™ was deployed for testing across multiple environments. This tool was implemented to establish a comprehensive test system that fully supported the CI/CD requirements. Throughout the entire testing process, 1,000 automation test cases were successfully executed.
