A provider of freight brokerage, transportation management, warehousing and supply chain consulting. The company’s multimodal freight services include truckload, less-than-truckload, intermodal, air freight and ocean transportation.

The Challenge

The client was dissatisfied with the old vendor and looked for a new vendor to maintain and develop new features for a system that had been in use at the core of their business for many years
The client’s current system was built on an outdated technology (VB.NET), making it challenging to find a vendor with expertise in that technology
They aimed to expand the system to provide a central place for their internal users (sales agents) to easily manage the availability of stocks (rooms, transport tickets, entrance tickets,…) as well as the price of those stocks, contracted with their vendors beforehand

The Solution

Provided an experienced VB.NET technology development team to enhance the customer’s current website. The development time and quality that LG offered were committed with an SLA, which made NGT more than happy.
Developed an Inventory Management System (IMS) as a parallel system with the existing one, using new technology. This helped to reduce the risk of rebuilding the whole system when the old technology was no longer supported

The Result

Utilized the legacy VB.NET technology has saved time and cost for the customer
Developed the IMS with new technology has made it easy to control in case there’s a need for future system development
The new IMS system helped NGT internal users easily get an updated overview of stock availability and stock price
Enhanced user experience has driven NGT users with a more standardized yet simplified process of creating tours
