The client is a prominent provider of vehicle management software and technology, specializing in solutions for vehicle rental and loaner fleet management. With over 30 years of experience, they have established themselves as a leader in the industry. Their software operates as Software as a Service (SaaS), enabling customers to access applications and databases over the internet.

The Challenge

For over 30 years, our client has been a leading provider of vehicle management software and technology, specializing in solutions for vehicle rental and loaner fleet management. Their solutions act as SaaS, allowing customers to access their applications and databases via the Internet. The client wanted to deliver the best customer experience possible; therefore, they wanted to perform testing across their web-based software.

The client’s web-based software is extremely complex, with a rich user interface and vast source code. Any software defects maintain the potential to directly impact product quality and customer experience, which, impacts the client’s ability to provide services to their global customer base. This meant that extensive testing was necessary to minimize risk. Testing would need to be run across multiple environments and the client requested it be done in a rapid sprint cycle.

The Solution

The LogiGear team focused testing efforts across the functions of the client’s web-based software. Manual test cases were provided to the LogiGear team by the client. LogiGear then began designing new test cases to expand test coverage. After consulting with the LogiGear team, the client decided on TestComplete as their Automation Tool.
Using TestComplete, LogiGear began to run Automation Testing, delivering results to the client after each sprint. After multiple sprints, the client understood the capability of the LogiGear team and decided to work further with them for the execution of additional test cases. The scope of work included testing 2 different web-based applications across 9 testing environments.

The Result

The LogiGear team set out to achieve maximum test coverage while maintaining the stability of the web application functions. Through using TestComplete as an Automation Tool, the team achieved:

95% stability between functions on quick-release updates to the website
90% test coverage on 1 web application
60% test coverage on the other web application
