LogiGear University announces the launch of a new, free video series on Testing in DevOps and Continuous Testing which is available today.
There’s no doubt that DevOps is taking over software development. Many companies are now figuring out how DevOps will fit in with their current Agile or Scrum practices. This gives them a great opportunity to fix scrumbutt practices in order to take the necessary steps toward DevOps. It is essential that test teams are ready and knowledgeable, with practices and ideas in place to begin this journey. This video series is meant to equip anyone in development who would like to better understand testing in DevOps, especially test managers and testers who must be armed with information as practices are set up and optimized. The series focuses on both general understanding and practices, with some opinions on the culture shifts needed to get DevOps /Continuous Testing started right in your organization.
Continuous Testing leads to Continuous Delivery. Continuous Delivery is the core practice for Dev and Test teams to achieve in DevOps.
This five-part video series is a survey of the current landscape in DevOps and Continuous Delivery. The focus here is on Testing. From an overview of DevOps and the practices to make DevOps, the series goes into lower level detail of test strategy changes and test automation in Continuous Testing. The series also discusses what you can expect from other teams, primarily the Ops / IT teams in DevOps and what you need to get started on the DevOps Journey.

DevOps has been described as Agile on Steroids; DevOps has also been described as Agile for Operations/IT. I like both of those descriptions. Many organizations want Development, Test, and Operations teams to move to DevOps now. DevOps is a big topic, but DevOps is not the focus of this article. We will not be talking ...
This post is part of the Pride & Paradev series With continuous deployment, it is common to release new software into production multiple times a day. A regression test suite, no matter how well designed, may still take over 10 minutes to run, which can lead to bottlenecks in releasing changes to production. So, do ...
The book is an incredibly effective and valuable guide that details the risks that arise when deploying cloud solutions. More importantly, it provides details on how to test cloud services, to ensure that the proposed cloud service will work as described. It is a great start to the topic. The 6 chapters detail a paradigm ...

For this issue of LogiGear Magazine, our very own Michael Hackett sat down with one of the godfathers of Continuous Delivery, David Farley. Making the leap to CT is easier than you think— follow this guide to transform your testing process No pain, no gain! Achieving Continuous Testing shouldn’t take a “Hans and Franz” attitude. It should be painless, more like a natural progression from implementing certain practices over time.
Special considerations that should be applied to an application running in the cloud. Over the last weeks, I have found myself in several rather intense discussions about “cloud testing”: what it is, what it isn’t, and what it means for testing and QA professionals. The major source of confusion in these discussions usually revolves around ...

Aligning the Dev and Ops Teams DevOps as a philosophy has had as its centerpiece the principle that Dev and Ops teams need to align better. This is a people and organizational principle, not a process centric principle. To me this is more important when adopting DevOps than any other capability or tool. My last post ...
